Luna Lift — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Luna Lift ("the app") is a workout tracker, coaching, and nutrition app. This policy explains how the app handles your data.

Summary

Luna Lift stores your data on your device. If you sign in with Apple, the app also syncs account data to our server so your training is available across your devices. We do not sell your data, show ads, run advertising analytics, or track you across apps or websites.

Data stored on your device

Data we collect when you sign in

Sign in is optional. If you sign in with Apple, we store the account identifier Apple provides, and your name or email address if Apple provides them. We use this only for account access, sync, and account deletion.

For signed-in accounts, we store a synced state snapshot that can include manual workouts, sets, bodyweight entries, training profile data, equipment, limitations, nutrition entries, saved foods, recipes, recent coach thread messages, rest days, week plans, and app settings. This is used to provide sync, coaching, nutrition, and personalization features.

Imported Apple Health workouts, Apple Health body-mass samples, and daily step, distance, and active-energy summaries stay on your device and are stripped from account sync. If Apple Health provides heart rate or active energy for a manual Luna Lift workout, that workout may sync with those measured values attached.

Apple Health

With your permission, Luna Lift reads workouts, steps, distance, active energy, body mass, and heart rate from Apple Health. The app uses HealthKit observer and background delivery so new authorized Health data can update the app without requiring you to open it and tap Sync. Luna Lift can also save finished Luna Lift workouts to Apple Health if you enable writing.

You control Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings and in the Apple Health app.

Permissions

The app asks for Apple Health access only when you connect Health. The app asks for microphone access when you use voice input. The app asks for camera or photo-library access only when you attach an image for the coach, and asks for photo-library add access only when you save a shareable workout summary.

Third parties

We use Apple for Sign in with Apple and Apple Health permissions. We use Vercel and Neon to host the API and database. We use Azure OpenAI, a Microsoft service, to transcribe voice clips and generate coaching or nutrition responses. When you use a coaching, voice, or nutrition feature, the data needed for that feature — which can include your coach and workout messages, goals, training profile, workout history, image attachments you send, voice clips, and nutrition vocabulary — is sent to Azure OpenAI only to produce the response you asked for. We do not use it for advertising or tracking. Under Microsoft's Azure OpenAI terms, this data is processed solely to return your result: it is not shared with other customers, is not available to OpenAI, and is not used to train or improve any Microsoft or OpenAI model, so it receives the same protection described in this policy. Coaching features are only used after you agree, during setup, to this sharing; you can withdraw by not using those features.

If you add friends, the app shares only the small activity summary you choose to make available through the friends feature. Friends cannot read your full workout history or account state.

Data deletion

You can delete local data by deleting the app or using in-app clear-data controls. If you created an account, use the in-app delete account flow to delete the server account data, including the synced state, invites, friendships, activity shares, and cheers. Deleting the app by itself removes the device copy but does not delete a signed-in account stored on our server.

Children

Luna Lift is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
